In the Best Ball of 2 competition, The Bay Club team posted an impressive 14-under 43 on the par 57 layout. After holing out for an eagle on the par-4 9th hole the team played perfect golf on the back making nine consecutive birdies.
In a close second place was the team from Cohasset Golf Club led by PGA Professional Bryan Kienke. The squad from Cohasset fired a 12-under 45 which was good for solo second.
In the Individual Professional competition, it was again Yeomans and Kienke vying for the top spot. This time however Kienke came out on top after shooting a 3-under 54. In a tie for second place was Yeomans and Bob Miller of Kings Way Golf Club.

WHITE CLIFFS CC PLAYS HOST TO PRO-LADY CHAMPIONSHIP
PLYMOUTH, Mass- White Cliffs Country Club played host to the annual Pro-Lady Championship on June 17th. The par-62 course greeted players with a challenging layout and scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The day saw the Chapter crown champions in three separate competitions. Sandwich Hollows Golf Club led by PGA Professional Tom Tobey finished atop the leaderboard in the 1 BB of 4 Gross division with an impressive 4-under 58. Their best stretch of the day came on holes fifteen through seventeen where they made three consecutive birdies.
The 1 BB of 4 Net division ended in a tie between LeBaron Hills Country Club and Marshfield Country Club at a score of 9-under par. PGA Professional Tom Rooney and his teammates from LeBaron Hills played lights out on the back nine which features eight par-3’s. They made six birdies through that stretch to post a 23 on the back.
James Antonelli and Marshfield Country Club also played their best golf on the back nine. The highlight of the day for the team came on the 14th hole when amateur Margaret Smoragiewicz made a birdie on the 120-yard par-3 to card a net-1.
Peter Ruymann (Oyster Harbors Club), Tom Tobey, and Alec Vozzella (Marshfield CC) finished in a tie for first for low professional honors, each of them shot a 3-over 65.

CAPE COD NATIONAL FINISHES FIRST ON NANTUCKET
NANTUCKET, Mass- The Cape Cod Chapter was met with a beautiful day as it hosted the Miacomet Spring Invitational on June 14th. After the event was postponed from its original date due to rain, blue skies prevailed on Nantucket while storms took place on the mainland.
Gregg Richbourg and his team from Cape Cod National prevailed by a single point in the team stableford competition over Bryce Huntt and the home squad from Miacomet Golf Course, posting an impressive score of 101 points.
The highlight of the day came from the Miacomet team when amateur Will Maier holed out from 170 yards to make an albatross on the Par-5 4th hole. Maier’s strong play helped propel Miacomet to a second-place finish, as he tied Chip Johnson (Hatherly CC) for the low round of the day with a 1-under 71.
Rounding out the top five spots in the team competition were Mark Kitchen (LeBaron Hill CC), Dieter Wiedmayer (Sankaty Head GC), and Tom Tobey (Sandwich Hollows GC).
The professional stableford competition saw another single point victory as Dieter Wiedmayer edged out Chip Johnson with a score of 42 points. Wiedmayer’s round was fueled by a pair of eagles on the 4th and 14th holes.
Johnson finished in second place with a score of 41 points, followed by Patrick Hurrie (The Ridge Club) and Tom Tobey who finished in third and fourth place respectively.

WATROBA AND WOJTUSIK VICTORIOUS AT HYANNISPORT PRO PRO
HYANNIS PORT, Mass- The Cape Cod Chapter held its second event of the season on Wednesday at the beautiful Hyannisport Club. It was a perfect day with calm winds, but the club’s difficult greens provided the players with a tough test.
Tim Watroba and Jeff Wojtusik, both from Thorny Lea GC, came home with the title in the Fourball Stroke Play competition with a score of 5-under 66. The duo ratted off seven birdies on the day which led the field. Watroba and Wojtusik did damage on the par-3’s which they played in 2-under par, including making the only birdie of the day on the 8th hole.
Finishing one shot behind in solo second place was Eric Barlow (Winchester CC) and Tom Tobey (Sandwich Hollows GC). Barlow and Tobey made 6 birdies to go along with two bogeys to shoot 4-under 67.
Rounding out the top three spots on the leaderboard was Collin Hubbell and Eric Steindel from the Wianno Club who were 3-under par.

SHERMAN AND 15th GOLF CLUB WIN AT POCASSET
POCASSET, MA- The Cape Cod Chapter opened their 2021 tournament season this Thursday with a Pro-Am at Pocasset Golf Club. Rain threatened the field of 18 teams throughout the event, but ultimately clear skies prevailed, and they were able to enjoy a great day.
In the team format (1 Best Ball Gross + 1 Best Ball Net), PGA Professional Brad Sherman and the 15th Golf Club team won in convincing fashion firing an 18-under 126. Joining Sherman on the team were amateurs Peter Hartmann, Chris Kirrane, and Justin Bissett. They were five shots clear of the 2nd place Bay Club Team lead by PGA Professional John Paesani.
Wyatt Frazier of Woods Hole took home the Individual Professional title with an impressive 2-under 70. Tied for 2nd place was Tom Tobey (Sandwich Hollows GC) and John Paesani (The Bay Club) who both shot 1-over 73.
